There's also a myth that wrapping your phone's battery in saran wrap and putting it in the refrigerator will make it last longer, but experts say that's not a good idea.

It's also a good idea to turn your phone off for a while if it's overheating, as batteries are adversely affected by temperatures above 35 degrees. 

After 500 charges and discharges, your phone's battery will be at 80% capacity. After that, it's time to consider replacing the battery.
